EE-26139 Monitoring in SG4.2.x does not work

Problem

In Menu "Administration" – "Performance" - "Dashboard" the hourglass appear all the time, and the Front end Server is not show (only the both Applications server are there)
although it is possible to configure some items and save it.

But in Menu "Administration" – "Performance" – "Monitoring" the windows is empty.

 

 

Environment

Solaris 10
Oracle 10
Jboss 4.0.4GA
Tomcat 5.5.25

Cause

I noticed the following errors in the server.log from the application server, it seems it has connection problems for these KPI values.

2012-05-24 15:08:30,038 WARN [servicegateway.ejbservice] class: KpiServicesManager method: getKPIsFromRemoteServer: Unable to retrieve KPI values from remote server ( http://193.192.238.181:8080/servicegateway_kpi/jsp/protected/getKPI.jsp): null
 

 

Solution

Port 8080 seems not to be opened between the application servers and between the application servers and the front_end servers.
-After the port was opened in the firewall the Application server monitoring started to work ok.
-The ACS (tomcat) monitoring started after a clean install of the SG4.2.2 related ACS-server.war and ACS-api.war files including a fresh configured ACS.properties file.
